Our team at ECR Lessons comprises dedicated professionals with a passion for education and a commitment to ensuring every child’s reading success.
Bonnie Nicks
Bonnie is the founder and owner of The Learning Center, LLC in Bowling Green, Kentucky, which specializes in multisensory structured reading intervention for struggling readers as well as cognitive brain training for processing differences to support ADHD and executive function skills. Additionally, The Learning Center, LLC provides comprehensive testing for dyslexia and processing differences.
Bonnie is a certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist (SLDS), certified speech language pathologist (SLP/CCC). She is a certified trainer for cognitive enhancement and processing skills through Learning Rx, Interactive Metronome and Equipping Minds. She serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for Learning Rx.
Amanda Akers-Mann
Amanda Akers-Mann’s dedication to education began in part from the difficulties she experienced in childhood. In second grade she received personalized reading intervention, illuminating the connection between letters and sounds and laying the foundation for her academic path.
She pursued academic degrees in elementary education and early childhood special education, as well as a minor in mathematics from Wayne State University. Furthering her commitment, she obtained a master’s degree in instructional design and curriculum development from Western Kentucky University.
After completing her education, Amanda founded The Learning Studio with guidance from her mentor Bonnie Nicks. Over the years, they have expanded to include reading and math interventionists, allowing them to reach a growing number of children.
Drawing from personal experiences, Amanda’s passion lies in removing barriers to reading for struggling learners. She envisions a world where every child has access to effective, engaging, and scientifically backed support, ensuring no one experiences the frustration she once did.

Riley Crabb
As both a dyslexic individual and the parent of a dyslexic child, Riley brings a unique and powerful perspective to our team. Her experiences fuel her passion for creating accessible and effective content for all learners. With her exceptional graphic artistry and deep insight into the dyslexic mind, she ensures our lessons are designed to be visually engaging without being overwhelming.
Riley’s personal connection to dyslexia gives her the ability to assess lessons from the inside out, ensuring that formatting and wording resonate with dyslexic students. Her goal is to make each lesson accessible and intuitive, helping us get inside the brain of a dyslexic learner to enhance their experience and success.
